VP Racing Octanium is a high-concentration octane booster blended specifically for off-road racing applications — formulated to increase gasoline octane rating by up to 8 numbers (80 points) when used at the correct treat rate. Used by motocross, enduro, and off-road racers to extract maximum performance from pump fuel when race fuel is unavailable or impractical.
Higher octane allows ignition timing to be safely advanced without detonation risk, increasing power output and improving throttle response and acceleration. Octanium eliminates the knock and pinging caused by low-quality pump fuel with insufficient octane for high-compression race engines — a common issue for European riders whose local fuel quality varies significantly. Octanium is effective on both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines and functions as a lead substitute for historic and vintage bikes.
Octanium is designed for race and off-road use. It is not compatible with vehicles equipped with oxygen sensors or catalytic converters — for street-compatible applications, VP Racing offers Octanium Unleaded.
