VP Racing C12 is a leaded race fuel rated 112 octane (R+M/2) — 116 RON, 108 MON — built for naturally aspirated engines running high compression ratios. It's one of VP's most widely used blends across drag racing, circle track, and road racing, where consistent combustion under sustained high cylinder pressure matters more than what pump fuel or standard unleaded race fuels can deliver.
C12's non-oxygenated, leaded formulation is tuned for naturally aspirated, high-compression engines — up to 15:1 — rather than the boosted or nitrous applications C16 is built for. Detonation resistance at these compression ratios depends on octane stability under load, which is where C12's lead-based chemistry holds an advantage over unleaded fuels at a comparable rating. The blue dye is standard VP practice for identifying race fuel in the tank and lines when running a dedicated fuel system alongside a pump-fuel setup.
C12 is leaded and formulated for closed-course competition only — not street legal, and not compatible with vehicles fitted with catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. Confirm your fuel system components are rated for leaded fuel before use.

VP Racing Fuels is an American manufacturer of purpose-blended racing fuels established in 1975. VP produces fuel formulations covering 2-stroke and 4-stroke motocross engines, with ethanol-based and non-ethanol options available across multiple octane grades.
VP fuels are used at professional and amateur motocross events worldwide. Each formulation is developed for specific engine configurations,
compression ratios, and jetting requirements, with published specifications for octane rating, oxygen content, and Reid Vapour Pressure. VP Racing Fuels deliver consistent combustion characteristics batch to batch — a critical requirement for competition tuning where fuel variability affects engine mapping and jetting calibration.
