VP Racing C16 is a leaded race fuel built for forced induction and nitrous applications where cylinder pressure exceeds what unleaded fuel can control. Rated above 118 octane (R+M/2) — RON >120.0, MON 116 — C16 is one of VP's most widely used blends across drag racing, turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-assisted engines running compression ratios up to 17:1.
At the cylinder pressures produced by boost or nitrous, detonation resistance becomes the limiting factor on how much power an engine can make safely. C16's lead-based formulation holds octane stability under these extreme pressures more consistently than unleaded race fuels at the same rating, which is why it remains a standard choice for built engines running aggressive boost or nitrous shots. The fuel's blue dye makes it easy to identify in the tank and fuel lines — useful when running a dedicated race fuel system alongside a pump-fuel street setup.
C16 is leaded and formulated for closed-course competition only — not street legal, and not compatible with vehicles fitted with catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. Confirm your fuel system components are rated for leaded fuel before use.
