The DID 415ERZ is part of DID's Exclusive Racing Series -- a non-O-ring chain built specifically for mini motocross racing, where low weight and fast power transfer matter more than the extended service intervals that sealed chains provide.
SDH pin treatment
The defining feature of the ERZ series is the SDH (Super Die Hard) pin treatment. DID's patented process heat-treats the pins to 1.5 times the hardness of conventional carbon-treated pins. The result is a Chain Life Index of 410 - meaning 4.1 times the wear life of a standard non-O-ring chain under the same conditions. The pins resist elongation under load, which keeps chain tension consistent and reduces wear on both sprockets.
Construction
415 pitch. Non-sealed - no O-ring drag, which keeps friction and rotational weight to a minimum.
Tensile strength: 4,540 lbs. Pin diameter: 0.156" (3.96mm). Plate thickness: 1.5mm inner and outer. Gold finish.
Non-O-ring chains require more frequent maintenance than sealed chains. Clean and lubricate after every ride in wet or sandy conditions. On a mini motocross bike raced regularly, inspect chain stretch every 5-10 hours.
