The 6D ATR-3Y brings the same revolutionary ODS™ technology found in the adult ATR-3 into a youth-specific motocross helmet, purpose-engineered for the still-developing brains of young riders. As an authorised European dealer for 6D Helmets, Art of Racing stocks the ATR-3Y — the most advanced youth motocross helmet available in Europe.
6D's fifth-generation Omni-Directional Suspension™ (ODS) system uses a dual-layer suspension design with an outer EPP liner and replaceable inner EPS liner connected by elastomeric isolation dampers. This allows the inner liner to float and shear in six degrees of freedom during impacts, absorbing both linear and rotational forces. The ATR-3Y uses softer, more compliant materials than the adult version to better suit developing brains.
ECE 22-06 certified and built with 6D's rebuildable design — the inner EPS liner can be replaced after a significant impact, restoring full protection without replacing the entire helmet.

6D Helmets is an American premium helmet manufacturer specialising in Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) technology for motocross and off-road applications. The ODS system uses dual-foam construction with elastomeric isolation dampers positioned between the inner and outer helmet shells, designed to manage both linear and rotational impact energy in a single integrated structure.
The ATR-2 and ATR-2Y models are produced in composite fibreglass and full carbon fibre shell configurations, certified to ECE 22.06 standard. 6D helmets are built for riders who prioritise impact energy management over minimum certification compliance — ODS technology reduces peak G-force transmission at impact velocities where single-foam helmets reach their energy absorption limit. Available in full-face motocross configuration with separate visor adjustment.
